Evios - EV100 Meter
Thor Morten Smerud
Evios is a reflected-light exposure meter that shows scene brightness as EV100 — a single, standardized exposure value. It gives photographers a clear, camera-independent reference for judging light and setting exposure. To do this, Evios uses the camera’s live auto-exposure data, reading shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to derive EV100 directly from those values. The result is a transparent, dependable exposure reference that behaves like an instrument, not a black box. What Evios provides • Reflected-light metering, similar to an in-camera meter • Exposure Value normalized to ISO 100 (EV100) • Live updates as lighting or framing changes How to use it Point the camera at what you want to meter and fill the frame. Avoid direct light sources that may dominate the reading. Allow a moment for exposure to settle after large changes. Advanced view The Advanced panel shows the live shutter speed, aperture, and ISO reported by the camera, so you can see exactly how the EV value is derived. Accuracy notes Results depend on the camera’s auto-exposure behavior and device model. Extremely dark or bright scenes may be limited by sensor range. Evios is designed for photographers who care about exposure values and want a simple, precise EV100 reference — nothing more, nothing less. Useful for film photography, digital cameras, and any workflow where exposure values matter.
