Make your documents your own with Qalam PDF for iPhone and iPad, with Arabic and English interfaces. START FROM ONE HOME • Open a PDF, scan paper, convert photos, create a blank document, protect a copy or open the assistant. • See recent Qalam files, and connect a folder you choose in Files to see its recent PDFs. Qalam does not scan all device downloads. • Use Home, Files, Tools and Settings with light, dark or system appearance. CREATE AND PROTECT • Create 1–50 blank A4 or Letter pages, in portrait or landscape. • Convert up to 10 selected photos into a PDF, one image per page, and reorder them before creating it. • Scan paper with the camera into image-based PDFs. • Save a password-protected copy while keeping the original. Use 8–32 printable English letters, numbers or symbols without spaces. • Open encrypted documents with their password and edit when the document's permissions allow. SIGN AND FILL • Draw with regular, signature or Arabic calligraphy pens and live thickness control (1–10, default 2), type your name with bundled signature fonts, choose a photo or capture a signature with the camera. • Remove a light paper background from a signature image, with adjustable cleanup. • Move, resize and rotate a Qalam signature after placement. Save named signatures for reuse. • Optionally add a Gregorian or Hijri (Umm al-Qura) date below the signature, with the day, full month name and year. • Fill supported interactive text fields, checkboxes and choice lists before signing. • Add reusable initials and text/photo stamps, independent Gregorian/Hijri dates, and visual check/cross marks. Move, resize and rotate them. Try the tools on a built-in practice document. READ AND EDIT • Search selectable text, with separate Arabic diacritic and Alef-variant matching options. • Add Arabic and English text with font, size, color and alignment controls, including Arabic vowel marks. • Highlight, underline or strike through text. Edit your added text and use undo and redo. • Browse outlines and bookmarks, jump to a page and choose reading mode or page layouts. • Reorder, rotate, duplicate or delete pages; merge PDFs and extract selected pages. • Rename files, restore them from the app's Trash, and share a copy. ON-DEVICE ASSISTANT Summarize, explain or ask about selectable text from a chosen page range after agreeing to use the assistant. Answers are grouped by excerpt and page, may be inaccurate and should be checked against the document. Requires iOS 26 or later, an Apple Intelligence compatible device, its enabled/downloaded model and a supported response language. Response-language support is checked on the device, with setup guidance when unavailable. Choosing English does not guarantee support for Arabic documents. Scanned images require text that this version cannot extract with OCR. Large selections must be split into smaller ranges. PRIVACY AND SCOPE Document processing and assistant requests run on your device, without a Qalam account or upload to a Qalam server. File providers, sharing services and OS backups have their own settings. The app includes advertising and available ad privacy choices. The ad integration does not pass document contents or signatures to the advertising service. Editing covers annotations, added text and supported forms, not the original PDF text or images. Visible signatures are not certificate-based digital signatures. Editing a previously digitally signed PDF can invalidate that signature. Document permissions still apply. OCR, Word conversion and text reflow are not included. Imports are limited to 100 MB per file. Dark appearance changes the interface, not PDF page colors.
